Spread over an area of 1300 acres, Rochester Institute of Technology is a private institute located in Henrietta, New York. It has the honor of being one of the top 10 colleges and universities within the United States. It also started the first software engineering Bachelor's degree and first nationally recognized IT degree in the country. RIT was established in 1891 and is the 3rd largest college in New York today. It mainly offers engineering programs. However, it also offers degree in other areas such as graphic design, photography, glass art, industrial design and multimedia communications. There are about 8 colleges under it that offer over 200 courses. These include:
