John Wood Community College

Named after the pioneer settler of the West Central Illinois John Wood Community College was founded in 1974. The primary aim of the college was to facilitate the residents of the district with quality education at affordable rates. Initially the College started its classes in other schools' and colleges' campus. Due to rising public needs and demands John Wood Community College had to construct its own campus in 1998. Today at Harrison Street Quincy Illinois the elegant building of the college stands tall.
The College is determined to spread education to all parts of the district; it is also running 3 centers offering open learning. With the help of business community the college is now holding classes in the remote areas of the district. It also has the honor of being one of the founding members of Tri-State Community College Training Consortium. The college offers baccalaureate degrees to the students particularly outlined to help students get admissions in particular universities. These specialized degrees include:
