Creighton University
Creighton University is a Jesuit and Catholic university located in Omaha, Nebraska. It sits on a 132 acre area just outside of the city's vibrant business district. The college is named after Edward Creighton, a prominent businessman, and was formed in 1878. US News & World Report has ranked Creighton University as the top school among Midwestern Regional Universities for the past eight years, and placed it among the top schools in the country since 1986. The university is considered as the top 'best value' institution in the Midwest and has an impressive law program that is ranked 12th in the nation. Washington Monthly has recently ranked Creighton as the number one Master's university in the country.
Creighton University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), of the North Central Association (NCA),. It is also a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The current enrollment stands at over 7600, and include international students from 44 countries. Undergraduate degrees are offered in the Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy. Graduate programs are offered in Sciences and Arts, Business Administration, Education and Counseling, Health, Ministry, Nursing, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Information Technology and Management. Doctoral programs in Biomedical Sciences, Educational Leadership, Medical Microbiology and Immunology and Pharmacology are also on offer. Additionally, students can earn numerous certificates in fields such as Computer Science, Atmospheric Sciences, Management, Communication Studies, Health Administration, Liturgy, and Psychology. Students can also enroll in accelerated online programs that allow them to complete a degree from the comfort of their own homes, at their own convenience, and in a shorter time-frame than traditional degrees.
Creighton University has nine residence halls which include indoor sports facilities, pools, movie and game rooms, dining halls and chapels. There is also a state-of-the-art fitness center, baseball and soccer stadiums and a tennis center. Creighton participates in 14 NCAA Division I sports and has been the recipient of several MVC and NCAA awards over the years. Tuition fees for undergraduate programs currently stand at $31,894 per year. Graduate programs cost $704 per credit hour. Financial aid is available for those who qualify through a number of federal, state and local government funded programs, private lenders and scholarships.
