Sandhills Community College

Sandhills Community College of Pinehurst has the reputation of being one of the most distinct colleges of the community in the Village of Pinehurst. It is one of the many two year community public colleges of the State of North Carolina. Even though the college was chartered in 1963, it did not open until two years later, in 1965. The college operates under the multi complex North Carolina Community College System. The college currently has over four thousand students enrolled in its college credit earning programs. The continuing education program of the college alone has eleven thousand students.
The technical education program of the college gives you a variety of options. Whether it is an electrician course you are interested in or want to become a plumber or a technician, or if you want to become a chef, Sandhills Community College has a technical program to accommodate you. The college also helps learners prepare for their graduation degree or transfer to a four year college.  Automotive Technologies, Computer Technologies, College Programs for High School Students, Golf Course Management/Turfgrass Management Technology, Therapeutic Massage, Engineering Technologies, Cosmetology & Esthetics, General Degrees, Education, Hospitality & Culinary Technology, Management and Business Technologies, Nursing, Landscape Gardening, Health and Fitness Science, Public Services and last but not least Health Sciences.

If you are not too sure about the career you want to pick, you can meet up with the Counseling and Career Services and then sign up for appropriate courses. You have to be 16 or older, you need to have a high school graduation certificate or GED and you can take admission in any of the courses you are interested in. The college offers financial aid as well as scholarships to deserving students. Sandhills Community College not only is a great place to get education but also to work since oftentimes, their learners end up working for their college once they finish their courses.
