Bethel University
Bethel University was started out in 1842 as a church institution and was originally a school for religious education. It was the only church-run school in Tennessee to be reopened after the Second World War and has evolved over the years to become one of the leading providers of professional education in the state. The school name was changed from Bethel College to Bethel University in 2001, owing to the rapid growth of the school's student body and the diversity in the type of education provided.
