Brescia University was founded in Saint Joseph in 1950 as a Catholic women's junior college that offered liberal arts education. The school has since diversified the education it provides and has become one of the leading universities in Owensboro, Kentucky. The university has a student body of over 700 with a 14/1 student/faculty ratio. This ratio makes it easier for the student's to receive a more personalized education. Brescia University aims to instill the values and confidence in students that will go on to help them in leading successful careers.
