Licensure and Certifications
There are some careers in health sciences that may require licensure. Respiratory therapists and dental hygienists are required to be licensed in almost all states. Radiologic technologists must be licensed by the state or certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Although not mandatory, certification may display your professional knowledge and ability. The national board of respiratory care provides certifications for respiratory therapists.
