Animation Program
With the recent trend of 3-D and 4-D entertainment and technology, the need to explore such a field of education for a student has presented a new field with a lot of potential. Animation is the display of 2-D, 3-D and lately 4-D artwork or a model position in order to create an illusion of movement.
Types of Animation Techniques:
Although there are a number of animation techniques but the most notable ones that are a part of any educational system include:
Traditional Animation: This was the most common Animation Technique in the 20th Century where a series of drawings are photographed and filmed with each picture that differs slightly from the previous one, this creates a motion in the drawings.
Stop motion: It is the physical manipulation of real world objects by photographing them frame by frame to create an illusion of movement. There are various animation software programs available for this technique.
Computer Animation: The fastest growing field in animation techniques is computer animation; it has the capacity to create all the animation techniques digitally since it is done on a computer. All the cartoons that were made in 2-D and the movies created in 3-D were based on computer animation.
Education in Animation Programs:
There are two levels of education in the field of Animation:
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Animation: This is a four year long bachelors program. The degree is designed to educate students in conceptual and technical skills that are needed for being a professional in this field.
Masters Degree in Animation & Visual Effects: This is a one or generally two year program based on advanced studies in Animation with individuals using computer animation, visuals and sound imaging techniques to control images and information from films, photographs and physical objects to simulate real-world content.
