Case Management Training
Case Management involves assessing needs of patients mostly with mental illness or other disabilities and organizing their healthcare plans along with additional supportive services. A case manager is usually a health or a social worker having experience in dealing with such cases. It is their responsibility to develop a cost-effective health care plan to improve the quality of living of such patients. To be a case manager and the eligibility to be a part of Case Management Training requires a prior bachelor's degree in social work or a related clinical field. Prospective workers with a master's degree in social work or healthcare administration are usually given more preference by the employers. Registered Nurses can also acquire Case Management Training so that they are able to develop skills required in dealing with such patients. There are undergraduate and graduate degree programs available to provide Case Management Training to social workers and nurses. The program includes courses that train students in patient communication and develops research as well as healthcare skills. It also teaches them the most cost-effective ways to implement the necessary healthcare.
