Elementary And Secondary Education
The basic compulsory education, also known as the elementary and secondary education, begins from the kindergarten. Some elementary schools in the U.S, elementary education continues till grade 8th, while in others it lasts till grade 3rd. The grade schools are divided in primary, intermediate and middle sections, primary grade include students from kindergarten to grade 2, the intermediate section includes grade 3, 4 and 5, and the middle schools commonly known as junior high schools include students between grade 6th and 8th. The teaching trends in the U.S education system continue to change; the loop system is now being altered. Students are now studying according to the two-teacher two class mould pattern and in some cases the class is handed over to the other teacher in its second year.
Most of the secondary schools in the U.S start from grade 6th and last till grade 12th. The students between the age 12 and 18 are given some liberty to choose to between some optional subjects. This stage of education is vital in understanding the students’ strengths and weaknesses in certain subjects and hence provides the future guidelines for their college and university education. The secondary schools between grades 6th to 8th are called the junior high schools and 9th till 12th grade schools are simply known as the high schools. The culture of the high schools life of the teens has been the source of inspiration for many teen and high school movies. Elementary and Secondary Education is compulsory in many parts of the world especially in Europe, America and Canada. The millions of high school graduate produced annually in the U.S are serving the nation through their vocational skills and technical expertise. The compulsory Elementary and Secondary Education and its availability to most parts of society, is the reason behind such fine progress.
