The National Education Association organizes American Education Week every year to emphasize the importance of Education. The Education week is held every November with a prime focus on providing quality public education to every child. The American Education Week aims that the public education offered from Kindergarten all the way up to college should be stellar in quality. It also stresses upon the importance of quality education that helps a child to grow up, flourish and be an accomplished individual. This week also emphasizes on everyone’s responsibility to make public education at par. Their annual tagline reflects their belief that great public schools are a basic right and it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that.

The Annual Education Week will be held once again this year in the month of November. In this Week of Awareness, Public Education will be discussed from various aspects and new methods will be formulated to contribute in raising the standards of public education to a new level of excellence. The First day of the week is celebrated every year as an Open House Day in which millions of Americans celebrate public education through national commemorations and local community events. There is also a day designated to parents in which parents get hands on experience of attending classes. There is also a day dedicated to Education Support Professionals. This day is actually an ode to all those individuals who serve the schools with their outstanding services. There are also days like educator day and substitute educators day to celebrate the contribution of teachers in education. The National Education Association has been celebrating American Education Week since the early 19th century.  This Education week is a week prior to thanksgiving.
