Capital Community College since 1992 is a two year state college for the community of Hartford Connecticut. It was actually formed as a result of a merger between Greater Hartford State Technical College and Hartford Community College. The Capital College is established as a comprehensive two year college committed to offer high quality education. The College is aimed to offer courses and programs that ensure individual success and is in line with the emerging needs of workforce in the corporate environment. The Capital Community College is dedicated to provide affordable and accessible education to the people of Connecticut. The Capital College is accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges.   

The Capital Community College offers thirty seven different associate programs along with twenty seven certificate courses. These courses are for the diverse range of subjects including  computer studies , physical therapy, microcomputer studies, computer hardware, business management, emergency medical services , fire administration,  early education, distance learning, software, radiologic technology, architectural, wastewater, engineering technology, information systems, drafting, computer programming,  engineering science,  accounting, technological studies, health science, technician, marketing, mental health , nursing, paramedic studies, medical assisting, business office technology, social services, liberal arts , sciences, audio visual communication, labor studies, communication media studies, criminal justice and general studies. More than three thousand people graduate from the Capital Community College every year. The two year associate programs offered by the college allow its students to transfer their credits easily to a baccalaureate program at any four year college in the state.
