Accredited Universities

Luckily or unluckily, the certificates issued by the diploma mills or unaccredited universities are of no value in the job market. Similarly the degrees and certificates earned through the unaccredited online colleges, schools, universities and institutes are not recognized by the employers. The recent fame of distance education has called for strict quality control measures. The online institutes which match the education standards set by the U.S Board of Education are issued an accreditation certificate. This certificate is an indication that the institution is eligible for the online education and its syllabus, study material, education resource and the teaching technologies are standard.
There are six accreditation boards which work under the U.S Education Board. Their job is to inspect an online institute and approve or disapprove it according to the rules and regulation of the U.S education system. These boards include:

  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges
  • Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges
  • North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Southern Association of Schools and Colleges

Distance Education is a ray of hope for millions of those who don’t have enough education to get a good job and earn fine. Distance Learners are serious and committed people with not enough financial resources. Although online education is very cheap but of course it is not for free. Therefore it is very important to consider the accredited universities and colleges for pursuing an online degree. The online institutes claim to be the best ones but do not mention their accreditation status. The learners have the right to demand accreditation proof from the online universities and colleges. A degree issued by the accredited universities is as good as the one earned through traditional classroom education.
