Established in 1968, Northwest State Community College is the name of a two-year public college, located in Archbold, in the U.S. state of Ohio. Its current president is Dr. Thomas Stuckey. The Northwest State Community College (NSCC) comprises of a five-county service area, including Defiance, Henry, Fulton, Paulding and Williams Counties. It is an accredited college and offers 44 degree and 28 certificate and non-degree programs in different fields, including Allied Health and Public Services, Arts and Sciences, Engineering Technologies, and Business Technologies. Additionally, non-credit classes on more than 300 subjects are also offered to the students of the Northwest State Community College. These courses can be custom designed if required and can be delivered in personal classes by means of distance learning technology.
Online education is the USP of Northwest State Community College. The student body at this college has about 5000 students, having an average of 28 years old. The alumni stay connected with their alma matter, where the majority of it continues to live and work in the five-county area after graduation. The college also features various student clubs and organizations. These include Phi Theta Kappa which is a nationally renowned 2 year organization which requires a membership fee and 3.5 GPA by the students who are willing to join. Then there is Student Body Organization through which the students who organize and promote on-campus entertainment and events. Progressive Student Organization and Students 4 Sustainability also work actively in addressing social, environmental, and energy issues and endorsing change. For marketing and business students, DECCA is the association for their knowledge growth and skill enhancement. Strongly believing that a great education is a mixture of many factors, the Northwest State Community College also involves its students in several sports activities and has prominent sports teams in sports like volleyball, basketball, table-tennis, and softball.
