Patrick Henry Community College
Patrick Henry College was established in 1962. It was initially a branch of the University of Virginia's School of General studies. However after two years it became an autonomous college of the University. Patrick Henry College forms part of the twenty three community colleges in Virginia. The college is also known as PHCC. It is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate Degree. PHCC offers thirty Associate Degrees fifty career studies certificate programs and eleven certificate programs. The Colleges also offers Distance learning for under graduate and graduate programs. In fact distance learning forms an integral part of PHCC. All distance learning at PHCC requires a computer with a fast internet connection. Distance learning demands strong student commitment. Distance learning courses are equal to on-campus courses and you do have the luxury to transfer your credits to another college or university.
