Eastern Shore Community College

Eastern Shore Community College forms part of the College System known as Virginia Community College System. It takes two years for completion. It is also called ESCC. The college is easily accessible for people living in Accomack County and Northampton County. It is financed primarily with state funds; the two counties also make contributions in funding the College. The college offers associate degree programs approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.  Accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association and Schools the Eastern Shore Community College is regarded as one of the best educational institutions present in the area.

Besides offering regular classes in all the major disciplines Eastern Shore Community College also offers distance education to its students. It is extremely useful for students who are doing jobs. Some distance learning courses are also available through other colleges that form part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). ESCC has an electronic campus. Community Education and Continuing Education online classes are also here where workforce training is given to online pupils. Workforce development training is also delivered to employers and individuals through distance learning. The ESCC library supports online students fully. The success of an online student depends on the individual's motivational level and his/her comfort level with individual working.
