Labette Community College
Located in Labette County’s most populous City of Parson in southeast Kansas, Labette Community College (LCC) was originally founded as Parsons Junior College in 1923. It was financed and operated as a part of the public school system of the city as a two-year extension program of the Senior High School. In 1967, the college’s name got altered to Labette Community Junior College, and then in 1980, it finally changed its name to how it is currently titled as the Labette Community College.
LCC today is a two-year accredited college that offers four different track programs to pursue a degree – An Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Science, and Associate in General Studies. All these courses can be obtained through the college. These basic education courses are provided to the students for transfer purposes. The most popular programs out of these are the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, which enable you to attend the first two years at college and earn an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree, and later transfer the credits to a four-year university in order to obtain a Bachelor’s degree for yourself. Areas of study vary in Art to Philosophy. Additionally, LCC also boasts an active campus life, featuring various on-campus student organizations and clubs, including the Campus Activities Board, the Biology Club, the Christian Club, Phi Theta Kappa, and more.
