Hawkeye Community College
Hawkeye Community College, which is also commonly referred to as HCC, is a two year community college which also, like many other public community colleges, offers co-education. The college has several campuses dotting the surrounding towns. The main campus is located in Waterloo. One of the campuses of the college was initially in the use of the Waterloo Area Vocational School but the facility came to the college's use when The Hawkeye Institute of Technology was founded in 1966. Ever since 1992, the institute has been offering several courses ranging from liberal arts to sciences. In 1993, the college was renamed to HCC.
The college also serves as a jumping pad for students who want to prepare for four year colleges. The transfer programs include Associate in Arts degree with various courses like Liberal Arts, Fire Science Management, Business Administration, Corrections etc. They also offer Associate in Science degree as well as Associate in General Studies. The college offers numerous courses and programs like agriculture and Natural Resources, Social Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Sciences, Business & Information Technology, Social Sciences, Social Sciences, Power Technology, Human Services, Health Sciences, Arts & Sciences, Applied Arts and many others as well.
