Heartland Community College
Heartland Community College is a fully accredited two year college. The main campus of the college which is located in Normal is spread over a hundred and sixty acres of land. The college was founded in 1991 and has two other campuses. The college has a whole plan ready for renovation and expansion. As part of this renovation plan a gymnasium baseball field and a soccer field is to be added to the main campus. And since the student strength is also expected to grow as a result of these renovations the main campus would be doubled in size as well.
Currently there are three campuses which operate in different locations in the State of Illinois. With plenty of Continuing Education classes and Work Force programs Heartland College offers a wealth of opportunities to its students. The programs offered at the college include courses like Mechanics and Repair Design Liberal Arts Family and Social Work Business Science and Engineering Business and Management Construction Trades Security and Law Enforcement Office and Administration Medical Support and Technology Production Trade Nursing and Emergency Medicine Science and many others.
There are certain requirements for taking admission in any of the above mentioned courses you need to be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma. If you are not a high school graduate then you can use your GED diploma instead. High school students who are interesting in taking up credit courses for their college need recommendation from their teachers or other officials from their high school. Almost all the programs of offered by the college are affordable enough per se but students can always make full use of the financial aid program. One in every three students of Heartland Community College enjoys financial support in one way or another.
